Stay: Rondavels and the Bridal Cottage

Seven rondavels scattered up the slope behind the hall, and a two bedroom cottage with its own deck and a hot tub looking out over the valley. That is the whole of it, and that is the point.

The rondavels

No televisions, no minibar, no hotel nonsense. A bed, a good shower, a door that opens onto the mountain, and a two minute walk to breakfast. They sleep two each, fourteen in all. R1,100 a night inside a wedding package, or standard rates for a weekend away.

The bridal cottage

Two bedrooms, air conditioning, a television for those who want one, and the hot tub on the deck. Ours to give a bride from the night before her wedding, and available for weekends the rest of the year.

A weekend here

Arrive Friday. Hike the ridge Saturday morning before it gets hot, breakfast at the restaurant, the pool in the afternoon, the fire pits at dusk. Sunday is for the lakes. Most people leave slower than they came.

For wedding guests

Couples book the rondavels into their package so nobody drives home at midnight. For a bigger party we have arrangements with three guesthouses within ten minutes and we handle the bookings. Wedding prices.
